Afanar

to steal; to rob

While this literally means "to work hard", in Argentina as well as a few other countries it means "to steal". It refers the "hard work" of thieves. A popular use of this word is in the tango "Cambalache": "Él que no afana es un gil" (He who does not steal is a fool).
